Orientation is a self-sustaining program that does not receive funding from the university. All incoming students are mandated by the university to complete an orientation program.
Student fees will be billed to their ZotBill account on their September bill. Students do not pay for orientation prior to attending.
Parent/guardian attendance is optional, and fees need to be paid with a credit card when making a reservation for an orientation program. You must enter valid credit card information in order to make a reservation for parents/guardians to attend orientation.
What’s included in the orientation fee?
The SPOP fee includes overnight accommodations in UCI on-campus housing, 4 meals, staffing expenses, facilities and equipment costs, and all other program expenses.
The ISPOP fee includes overnight accommodations in UCI on-campus housing, 4 meals, staffing expenses, facilities and equipment costs, and all other program expenses.
The TSPOP fee includes overnight accommodations in UCI on-campus housing, 4 meals, staffing expenses, facilities and equipment costs, and all other program expenses.
The Parent Orientation Program (to attend the parent portion of SPOP, TSPOP, or ISPOP) fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch, staffing expenses, facilities cost, and all other program expenses.
The mini-TSPOP fee (for students and parents/guardians) includes lunch, staffing expenses, facilities and equipment costs, and all other program expenses.
All of our orientation fees also include salary/wages for professional staff and certain student staff that produce and coordinate orientation programs at UCI. They also cover some departmental expenses for Student Life & Leadership.
Parking is not included in any program fee. For students attending an overnight program who will be parking on campus, a 2-day 1-night permit costs $18. For participants attending a 1 day program, a 1-day parking permit costs $13 per car. Please visit UCI parking to purchase a parking permit in advance. You can also purchase a parking permit on campus the day of your program.
