You've now become part of the UCI family and we are happy you've joined us. Orientation is an important part of your son or daughter's start at UCI. For freshmen, orientation is mandatory. The Student Parent Orientation Program (SPOP) is offered 10 times throughout the summer so there are plenty of options for students who are eligible to attend that program. The International Student Orientation (ISO), which has been designed to serve International students who do not have significant experience with U.S. culture, will be offered once in September. If you have a son or daughter transferring to UCI, there is an optional 1-day program (Transfer Success) that will be offered two times this summer. In addition, a small number of spaces are being made available for transfers who are interested in a more in depth orientation to attend a 2-day / 1-night Transfer Student Parent Orientation Program (T-SPOP).
Parents and guardians are welcome to attend SPOP (Student Parent Orientation Program) or T-SPOP (Transfer Student Parent Orientation Program) on Day 2 for a fee, but it is NOT required. We will have a special set of presentations for parents/guardians and some overlap with students in workshops. Parents/guardians are also welcome at Transfer Success and its workshops for a fee.
Space is limited and it is first come, first serve.
